I think those 2nd gen firebird and camaros with no spoiler look like the last car built on a Friday. 25 yrs ago I went down to arizona to purchase a rust free 70 camaro but that deal fell thrrough. I Stumbled on a 72,000 original mile 1971 T/A 455HO and bought it, wish it had the manual trans. This T/A had a rust hole in the trunk lid under the spoiler. The car came with a extra trunk lid, sure did look like that trunk lid came off of jim rockfords firebird.😀

In the 1970s, my older brother put a 427 side oiler h/m lemans motor into one of his 1960 thunderbirds. That engine made 635 hp and he used the 4 speed top loader from the wrecked donor car. The T-bird was a tire fryer.

Had the same car back in the 70's except it was a 71 with the HD 3-speed and the green that was close to this color with the black vinyl top and the saddle deluxe interior. Awesome car it was.

"Performance" is a slur here, since the Darrin is a dog. The average V8 sedan (and lots of 6s/8s) was faster. And they didn't have side curtains.

Wonder why they did not make the engine a SIDE BY SIDE..HELPING COOLING?

They were what they were , I liked the one I had but having no engine breaking took getting used to . It was a bike of its day and the technology was the cutting edge then. They did need more maintenance than the dealer said at the time ,but happy days and Fond memories. Went back to the gt750 after I got the right offer .
